I've always been a reader and a writer. Between the ages of 15 and 35 I wrote practically nothing in public because I was assured by a teacher that whatever else I might achieve in life it would not be in writing. During those years I used a camera to express myself: to glimpse tiny snatches of life in monochrome with a brownie, a kodak junior, an instamatic, a voiglander, a zenith and even a practica.
In spite of being told that a picture is as good as a thousand words, I forsook the lens for the quill and started to write 1500 words a week for local papers, after accepting a challenge to do just that.
