Welcome to my webpage.
I live in Canada on Vancouver Island in the Harbour City of Nanaimo and am a self-described "pub poet" dividing my writing time between The Black Bear Pub (two blocks away from my house and far too convenient) and assorted ocean parks here on the Island.
The biggest influences on my poetry have been Leonard Cohen, Al Purdy, Irving Layton, Czeslaw Milosz and especially Charles (Hank) Bukowski.
Aside from writing I also enjoy collecting blues and jazz records, books (especially old poetry), photography, cooking, Asian antiques and a fine Bordeaux. I have been in the labour relations business for 33 years (22 as a mediator) and am currently the Manager of Labour Relations for the City of Nanaimo.
I am still working on that first book of poetry and hopefull will get it published one day. The tentative title is "Poems From the Point".
