I'm a suspense lover and over the years I've developed an interest in villains, at least the fictional type.

My mother taught me to read when I was four years old. That was the beginning of a long love affair with books, especially mystery and suspense. Several years ago,I decided to try to try my hand at writing a romantic suspense. Since May,2000, I've sold six books.
Writing has brought me new friends around the world and has fulfilled my dream of writing suspense/mystery. My books have lots of twists and turns, red herrings, etc. But they lack brutality and gore. There's more than enough of that in the world already. I tell a story with,I hope, convincing, likable characters. Engulfed in a problem/mystery,the main characters rise to the occasion and solve it.

World Enough and Time, my new historical fiction required a lot of research which I loved since research is an area I really enjoy.
This is my first historical fiction, the story of a Galveston family and its struggles to survive the Reconstruction Period, a tumultuous era that historians now refer to as the South's Second Civil War. The Ratliffs, like twenty thousand real-life southerners sailed to Brazil at the end of the War. Many former Confederates returned to the United States but a number stayed and made it their home. Today there are one hundred thousand Brazilians with Confederate ancestry.
