Still somewhat young (only a senior in high school), I consider myself only a novice writer...nothing too epic. But it's still worth taking a look at. Major influences include anything that I happen to be reading and/or experiencing at the time (which recently has been the legend, Jim Morrison). I tend to write a lot about general "feel good" or awesome experiences that i feel compelled to share, as well as some mysterioso/cryptic......stuff.
A couple of my favorite authors at the moment (from whom i adopt [or attempt to adopt/develop] writing styles from are Jim Morrison (frontman of The Doors), Lewis Carrol (author of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland), Tom Wolfe (author of The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test), H.P. Lovecraft (author of various short stories; possibly the most accessible being The Call of Cthulhu), and E.E. Cummings (a renowned American poet). I also reccomend finding vinyl recordings of The Liverpool Scene, an amazing "poetry band" which is an artform you don't hear all too often, but is very easy to dig.
All that i ask is that you give my writing a chance and please hit me up with reviews and tips. I like hearing what people think of my writing, good or bad. I also like being turned on to new things, so any suggestions, at all, are appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Chris
