I first became interested in writing stories and reading books as a child. I used to write plays and have my dolls act them out, with me playing all the parts, of course. The library was like a second home to me. Growing up in the Projects in the Bronx, New York, I found that reading opened up a whole new world to me. Then, after I’d read a book, it would inspire me to write a story of my own.
The Eighth House is my creative method of conveying themes such as the importance of family, loyalty, respect, and holding yourself accountable for the decisions you make. The supernatural backdrop adds suspense.
