I was born in Garvin, Oklahoma in 1942. I graduated highschool at Valliant, Ok. I attended Hills Business College for a few weeks. I became discouraged for it was hard being broke all the time. So I went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.as a Long Distance Operator. I worked for Ma Bell for six years. I moved back to Garvin, Ok. and got married. My husband and I had two children, but lost our son in an auto accident 1989. He left a wife and son. We have a daughter, who teaches school in Oklahoma; she has one son.
I retired May of 2007 from Denison Elementary School. The last six years there I worked as a secretary. During the time I spent in the school system, I was amazed how some of the students became so intensely involved in their library books. Observing this, rekindled my disire to write and hopefully get published so these students might have the opportunity to read my book. I also wanted to leave something for my daughter; getting my book published and dedicating it to her was my number one priority.
I have always loved to read and I spent a lot of time in the school library when I was young. I began writing poetry and short stories when I was a teenager. I love to draw and have tried my hand at painting.
I love adventure, mystery, and a touch of the supernatural. I think reading is a way to escape into another world and relieve the stress in our lives.
Thanks to Publish America my dream of getting published came true.
