I grew up 30klms from Sydney. After first reading Robyn Hood I wanted to be a writer, and have written ever since, although a career and then family often left little time for me to indulge in my passion. I had always toyed with fiction, but when my grandmother passed away about 18 months ago, I decided to capture the foods she had loved. They are meals that are traditionally Australian. My grandmother brought me my first typewriter when I was nine, and her loving influence inspired me to write Australian Flavour – Traditional Australian Cuisine.
