For many years I researched and studied the teachings of various self-help book authors and spiritual teachers in search of a happier life. I ultimately found that the process of becoming happy did not have to be a lifelong endeavor.
This inspired me to write my first book, now available at the iUniverse.com bookstore (under "Rising Star Books"). The book is entitled The Short Book on Happiness: Transform Your Life in 10 Days.
The Short Book On Happiness is an instruction manual on how to become happy. The book is short and direct because it focuses on HOW to become happy, and does not delve deeply into WHY you are not happy.
The idea behind this book is my belief that many people unwittingly procrastinate becoming happy due to spending an inordinate amount of time seeking out the reasons for their unhappiness. Too much time is spent figuring things out, and too little time is spent solving the problem. The problem, in essence, is that we have allowed our minds to become our masters, and must reclaim ownership of our minds in order to become happy.
This book introduces and briefly explains 10 topics, including positive affirmations, gratitude, visualization, meditation and faith, which are practiced, 1 topic per day, over a 10-day period using the practice exercises provided at the end of each chapter.
At the end of the book is a “Daily Map For Living” which incorporates the ten topics into a “map” the reader can use each day going forward to continue the journey to a happier and more abundant life.
