I earned a Ph.D. in public policy from the RAND Graduate School and an A.B. (honors) from Brown University. I've spent most of my career (about 25 years) working on strategic projects as both a consultant and as a corporate manager. In other words, I have almost no experience as a writer. (Anyone who has ever written a dissertation or had the unfortunate task of reading one will understand that a thesis does not really qualify someone as a writer.) I grew very interested in the internet and web during the 1990s and have focused on various aspects of the web -- some technical and some not technical -- since that time. When Fix This War! has run its course, I intend to return full-time to my consulting practice.
Most Influential Books I've Read
The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, by Thomas Kuhn
The Crisis of Democratic Theory, by Edward Purcell
Why Did I Write Fix This War!?
I believe that America's political leaders offer us very poor choices for our policies regarding the Global War on Terror and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. We need to lead our "leaders" and create better choices to develop a real strategy.
