I was born in a large joint family in Kerala, India. The elders in the family were well versed in epics. They were the ones who taught me that there is a lot behind each word, besides the apparent meaning.
When I was a kid I wanted to be a hero like Arjuna or Bheema. As I grew up, what amazed me was the creativity of the author who created all those heroes. Each man has his own world. What makes a writer different from his fellow mortals is that he invites others to his world through his writings.
I studied English Literature at college. Perhaps the worst thing I have done in my life! I should have studied Maths, Economics or Computers. I have been writing since I was 18 or 19. But I never had the courage to publish them. Recently I started a blog and they say I have a flair for writing (But I am not sure. These American friends never let you down).
If there was no day called 'tomorrow', I could have written a lot. I am writing a novel. I have a lot to write. The ancestral home with all those elders....... Stories about family heroes.......... The love affairs I have had and I have seen........... Stories of Ghosts, Spirits and Gods that amazed and frightened me when I was a boy........... Family feuds......Incests............ I don't know when I will finish it. I'll be placing extracts here every month.
If one of those blessed authors read my scribbles and wrote to me, then I would have been the happiest man on the globe.
