Born into a working class family in 1940 in NZ, I was an only child. As a fat kid, I spent much of my time alone and became an almost predatory reader. Ultimately, in my dotage, and after almost 30 years drifting about in Australia and PNG, I returned to NZ and began to write.

I have had two books of poetry published thus far: Man of Stone: an honest look at my own life, illustrated by Aimee Hare ISBN: 1-877365-34-3 and Rat atouille for the rindless: a series of short poems about my pet rat Brian, illustrated by Aussie cartooning genius, Dave Freeman. ISBN: 978-0-473-12544-8 Four other books are in the wings awaiting their call, and several joint efforts are in progress. I have had innumerable poems and short stories published in print and electronic magazines and anthologies in various genre.
