I was born on Christmas day 1932, into a huge family of seven girls and two sons. We lived in a huge two story log house that sat high on top of an Appalachian mountain where the wind howled making such weird noises that we children thought they were ghosts.It was during the great depression and it took a lot of ingenuity and determination to survive much less thrive. I was blessed with big dreams and so I I've been that way all of my life. I have overcome many obstacles and never lost my desire to be the best I could be in every thing.Due to a serious illness I retired early and I mentioned to my husband that I was going to write some important things so that our decendants would know about their ancestory. Thus began what became a full length novel that I sold over a hundred the first month and have placed them in libraries in several states. My entire family encouraged me and I will be leaving a legacy for years to come.

During the years our children were small I studied and acheived my real estate and insurance licenses and later became manager for a large chain department store furniture and carpet department and with that knowledge and experience I opened my own store and retired after thirty four years.

New poetry book printed 5/29/08 called When the Poppies Bloom Again, dedicated to our twin daughters who lived only a few days after birth, born just as the Orential Poppies were blooming.
