Introduction
The reasoning for evocation is to gain control over the demons for the purpose of redeeming them to Divine ends. So that the demon itself may feel a sense of peace and contentment, and leave the Aspirant alone for good. In effect the demons transform into angels of God, ready to do the Will of the Adeptus Magician.
The idea is that if one does not get his demons under control, which are in us all, then they will become harmful. But also theres more to it than this:

The causal reader will easily see that somehow magic includes more than the folk tales suggest. That it is a profound transformation, not merely the practice of magical spells. That the Will of the Magician is the Law of Light. Infallible, because of his status in the spiritual worlds as an adept of God. He is numbered among the Saints. From an ancient egyptian standpoint, a Magician was someone who had undergone a radical change of Mind, Body, and Spirit. In short, he is a God and a Master, by virtue of his transmuation.
Magic was even practiced by young children and spells were cast upon the fetus even in the womb, the which were actually blessings, but here there is little discrimination between a blessing and a spell. Here is why. Egyptian Magic actually started out very simply. Like the Tree of Life, it had three pillars
The Rituals were the actions performed by the Magician during the Ceremonies. The Spells, were the Words Spoken. But perhaps most important of all, was the Magician, who had to be properly prepared beforehand in order for the Operation to take effect. Someone very special and able to perform great feats of concentration, learning, and ritual dedication to the development of his own being. Tools were eventually developed to symbolize different abilities which one may wish to acquire.
The Was Scepter, is a symbol of power which first the God Thoth held in his hand as he was the One who beheld the creation of all things which was performed by the Great Fashioners of All, namely Ptah and Kheph-Ra.
In order to perform magic you must be transformed into something more than human. Like Khepera, we have to , "come into being". This creature lives in another plane of existence and can perform his will, whatever it may be. Ultimately, he is to be crowned and served by the forces of nature as a ‘Priestess to Her God’. For this reason, Khepera is the ultimate symbol of Adepthood to me. For the simple reason that He is a God unto himself who cometh into being, showing the power of True Will. Because he is a God, the magician has no need of Gods to work magic, though he may choose between Good and Evil, or not. Everything must be done according to the teachings of the Master, by divine revelation.
Theoretically, Magic has 2 Steps & 3 Aspects.
Two Steps of Magical Initiation:
1. Self-preparation
2. Practical work becomes possible.
Step one is mystical.
Step two is magical.
Three Aspects:
- A Spell: The words spoken.
- A Ritual: The gestures, which go along with the spell.
- A Magician: A specially prepared person.
