Just a country boy, rather a gentleman now, growing up I fell in love with country music-especially Hank Williams Sr. I was almost nine years old when Hank was found dead in the back seat of his 1952 blue Cadillac convertible near Oak Hill WVa, in the early morning hours of New Years Day 1953.
I wrote the book as a tribute to a great country singer and to keep his memory alive. His music has touched my life..and I hope it will many others, for many generations.
I love the history of the past and traditional country music. Not the country music of today, but the beginning roots of it.
I was a member of the 142 Signal Corp, armed forces and was stationed at Ft. Hood, Tx. I received my discharge in 1966.
My second book- The way It Used To Was- is published. The book is dedicated to all the people that lived in Appalachia from the middle 1800"s up until 1965. Wade Clark co-authored with me on this one.
