Mike is a practicing attorney in Central Iowa. He also teaches college law and government. His first mystery novel, Murder Most Holy, involved the murder of a young nun. His second book, End of the Line is currently available from Five Star, through any bookstore or from any on-line store including Amazon.

Mike is a big car racing fan and competed in Formula Vee SCCA races around the Midwest for nine years before "retiring" several years ago. He is also a ventriloquist and has appeared at schools and the Iowa State Fair. In conjunction with his legal practice, Mike serves on the Polk County District Court Mediation Pane and is a former editor of the Iowa State Bar Association's Commercial and Bankruptcy Newsletter.

Accomplishments

Before becoming an attorney, Mike was a newspaper reporter and editor, a real estate broker, and an elected city official. He currently serves on the board of directors of First Class Community Credit Union, and is involved in many other church and civic activities. He is an ordained deacon in the Catholic Church. Mike and his wife, Luanne, live in West Des Moines with their two best four legged friends, Bo and Buster.

In addition to his fiction, Mike's legal commentaries have appeared in numerous publications including the nationally distributed The Waderer. He also writes a monthly column for the Catholic Mirror in Des Moines.
