I have an MBA from California, served with the Americal Infantry Division in Vietnam, and took early retirement as VP, Information Systems from Prudential Financial Services. I love mysteries and have collected over 2,000 of them— some dating as far back as the 1800s— many of which are first editions and signed by the authors.
I love mysteries and comedy and have combined the two to produce my first novel, Bad Vibrations, which many reviewers have called one of the most hilarious, original and creative contributions to the genre.
I begain writing mysteries because so many of the ones being written today were starting to sound the same. I wanted to push the envelop and expand the boundaries of the genre. My preference is for humorous dialog, interesting and zany characters who are unique and stand out, plots that make you want to continue reading without stopping, and scenic descriptions which are poignant and memorable.
My major literary influences are Agatha Christie, Raymond Chandler, Dashiel Hammett, Ross McDonald, John McDonald, Philip McDonald, Ellery Queen, Rex Stout, Elmore Leonard, George V. Higgins, Patricia Highsmith, Eric Ambler, Marjorie Allingham, Earl Derr Biggers, James M. Cain, John Dickson Carr, Arthur Conan Doyle, Graham Green, Ngaio Marsh, Mary Roberts Rhinehart
