Peavy practiced law in Fort Worth, Texas for over 12 years before relocating to California where he pastored a church in Los Angeles while pursuing doctoral studies at Claremont Graduate University. He later gave up pastoring to focus on teaching and writing. He now teaches at the University of Phoenix and Victor Valley College as well as Canyon College.
Without a doubt, Peavy's speaking and writing reflect the many influences on his life's journey: law, theology, philosophy, and practical experience. Buddha and Jesus play major roles in the shaping of Peavy's religious views whereas Existentialism mostly informs his philosophical ideas.
Birth Place: Fort Worth, TX USA
Accomplishments: In 2004 Peavy received the Crown of Peace Award for "Outstanding Achievement in Education and Promoting the Vision of World Peace Through Interfaith Dialogue and Cooperation in the Community." He also presented a paper on the Science of Religion at the prestigious Oxford Roundtable.
