There are many subjects that inspired Traumatized, most are dreams and every day life. Although, all stories regard horror, not all were inspired by negativity. An example is the novella, "Bloodlines," which was actually inspired by karma.
Each story has a moral or political value behind the grotesque and horror. The inspiration for the moral behind the terror was provoked by horror films of the 70's and 80's. During those decades most horror films had a deeper meaning or metaphor and they made the viewer think. Another inspiration was "Tales from the Crypt" comics. It seemed as if each comic regarding "Tales" had a moral undertone, such as a criminal receiving a punishment that fit the crime.
When I began interpreting the morals to "Tales" and the political or moral theme to older horror movies, it inspired me to create something that was fresh. If one were to read in between the lines, the reader would learn a deeper message. I went into Traumatized feeling that everything in this collection had to maintain a message, if not, then my work would be for nothing.
