From a tour in Vietnam, as a military policeman, to fishing the coast of Maine for lobsters I have always enjoyed the telling of a good story. As a young man I began writing songs. When I had several published (ASCAP) I entertained the thought that perhaps I could write stories.
Ten years ago I started my ScFi novel Love,Power and I.C.E. and Joined a writers group in Kennybunkport Maine. The experience gained over those three years was invaluable toward my novels completion.
There is no substitute for life experience when building characters in a work of fiction. When your characters appear real then the story becomes believable.
As a young man I ran for a state senate seat. Having to give speeches in front of groups of people who were perfect strangers I quickly learned how words, phrases and emotion effected the audience. You can imagine how good it felt when one of my readers, a local tavern owner, told me He was on the third reading of my novel.
With just imagination, a pen and a blank piece of paper the story grows.
