I joined the British merchant Marine as a junior deck officer. When I came ashore after three years to do my Second Officer examinations, I fell in love and did not return to the career which occupied all of my father's working life.

I joined the Belfast Fire Service as a fireman but when the shooting and bombing commenced, not wanting to be decorated with a posthumous bravery medal, I left Ireland and came to the sunny climes of Perth.

I went back to night school and gained my qualifications as a draftsman. I still do this on a contract basis.

During the time since leaving the navy, I have played guitar and formed numerous bands with my sisters and brothers. (Who came to this country after me.) We were support acts for many overseas artists.

And then I discovered writing.

I have written four novels and numerous short stories. My latest work is set in USA and the two main characters are Rose and David. She originates from a wealthy Northern Pennsylvanian family, while David hails from the Projects of Green Point, NY. Their lives slowly converge throughout the story, and they face many perils along the way.
