A new entrant into the writing field, however, I have written a book titled "The Treasure Hunt" set in a boys' boarding school. From an early age, I was fond of books and I collected many. Currently I am reading several books, including "War and Peace" by Leo Tolstoy (an old classic), and a book of verse by Taban lo Liyong titled "Carrying Knowledge up a Palm Tree". I am also writing my next book,

I am a trained civil engineer, Nigerian born but resident in the UK currently. I have travelled and studied in the U.S.A. and worked in Malaysia's capital, Kuala Lumpur, sometime in the past. I have visited also Singapore. I like to travel, and my background makes me come in contact with diverse nationalities. In my writing though, I like to explore some unresolved themes from my youth, native country and the aspect of pilgrimage which necessarily every human faces in life. I am influenced by some of the major classical writers, Sophocles "Oedipus Rex", Homer's "The Iliad" and The Odyssey"; Shakespeare "Julius Caesar" and Samuel Butler's "The Way of All Flesh", and many more. Western literature and Christian religion are some of the major influences in my life. Closely aligned to the major influences from education, training and books is the struggle to overcome odds in life, work settings, marriage and family life, national life and more.
Still, I try to consider the material information from various sources. For instance, cosmologists talk about the birth of new stars, every minute or so. Scientists and environmentalists catalogue the irreversible damage man's unrestrained operations in diverse fields, including travel, industrialization and mining have caused to the earth. Where is all this leading to. I have my perspective from the Bible and some other related literature, which points to an end foreseen by a benevolent God, and creator.

My love of writing can only be satisfied when I explore to some satisfaction (or achieve some 'poetic truth'), the troubling themes in my life experience. In that sense, my next book, tentatively titled, will be my equivalent of "A book about everything". A writer being interviewed in BBC's "Hard Talk" program once remarked, when asked why he wrote such a book, that he wanted to write "a book about everything". That same writer said in that interview, that his favourite book, Tolstoy's "War and Peace" was a book about everything.
