I've suffered a lot and survived a lot, but in the end I will come out on top.

Background Information

I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and lived there until the age of sixteen when I was raped. After the rape my mother thought that it would be best for us to move to Virginia with the rest of our family (which was her way of denying that it ever happened). I started to write poetry everyday after that happened and have been writing ever since.

Writing is my way of letting my feelings out and also my way of reaching out to people. I have always found it much easier to express myself through writhing than aloud. I recently came back home to Cleveland after leaving an extremely abusive relationship and barely escaping with my life. I feel that my survival was a blessing and that I was blessed with my life and this gift of writing to be a blessing to others.
