Debra S. Fleming is a graduate of Florida State University, where she majored in Creative Writing and minored in Religion.
While at Florida State, Debra's classes of concentration included Poetic Technique with Van Brock, Article and Essay Writing with Wendy Bishop and Narrative Technique with Ann Turkle. Her favorite non-writing course was with Biographer Douglas Fowler.
Debra was a half-scholarship recipient of the Summer Journalism Institute at the University of Florida.
Tagged as the youngest female Development Director by New York University in 1995, Debra later went on to found The Aravot Company, LLC a consulting company for not for profit and for profit affordable housing developers. Her professional profile is available at bright fuse.
As a writer, Debra Fleming is flexible in her venue. She has written poetry, articles, blogs, essays and of course grants. A grant writer for the last 17 years, Debra has procured over 98 Million dollars for affordable housing.
Debra is currently working on her Certification with the Board of Certification of Genealogists (BCG). She is currently a member of the Genealogical Speakers Guild (GSG), The Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) and the International Society of Family History Writers and Editors (ISFHWE).
Her major influences are Lord Byron, Louise Hay, and Debbie Ford.
