I traveled through 48 of the 50 United States at the age of 18 and self-published a book about the experience.  Undergraduate degree in History and English (Ripon College, Wisconsin), with a Masters in International Relations from Boston University.  I consider myself an excellent public speaker and trainer, including encouraging audiences to write their life stories, in the great tradition of my hero Studs Terkel.  Spent 10 years in the United States Navy as a Surface Warfare officer in the 1980s and am currently writing a memoir about those times, for release in the summer  more...
