I am activist, educator, soldier, scholar and humanitarian. The life and longings of W. E. B.Dubois have had a signal influence on my being. I have worked long and hard in the civil rights movement, having achieved success and have had others to take credit for those successes.
I created The Black History Calendar in 1986. In the 1987 calendar, I copyrighted the poem, "I Can", line twenty-five of which, created the term Afr-i-can Amer-i-can. The aspirations that I have for myself and my people are best articulated in that poem. more...
