My major motivation in writing had to be my health. When I was a kid, I had very bad allergies and was sick all the time. We didn't have cable back then, so television was pretty bad. I spent most of my sick time reading science fiction. Looking at my work, I would say that my mother had a big influence on how I portray the stories, and characters.
