I learned to play poker at a young and impressionable age, and was playing for a living by the age of twenty. I learned to count cards with Ken Uston, and spent five years playing blackjack and collecting casino chips. I developed a deep desire to learn who had started the many casinos of Nevada, and at the time there was very little about the early pioneers of Nevada gaming, so I spent many hours at the Nevada Archives and Nevada Historical Society and interviewing old casino managers and owners before writing articles about what I was able to dig-up. more...
