Broken Promises

BROKEN PROMISES
The little boy named Ali
A tragic victim of this war
Oh how he suffers misery
Still there are dozens more

For this boy of twelve years
A doctor leans upon the wall
I seen his doctor crying tears
A dedication beyond the call

Both of Ali`s arms are gone
His body was burned so bad
With pain from dusk till dawn
Bombs took his mom and dad

He lost brothers and sisters
A family home blown apart
His body covered in blisters
Scenes that broke my heart

There was no medication
For pain he gets no relief
On his head is lacerations
Inside a little heart is grief

Embarrassed is our nation
We’ve sent him to get care
Do we have a determination
To help all the children there

Killing kids, dads and moms
Today I heard on the news
We used our cluster bombs
This we promised not to do

There are many such stories, and they are all tragic, but the end result is that a people are now free, and life will get better for even him.
