BROKEN PROMISES The little boy named Ali A tragic victim of this war Oh how he suffers misery Still there are dozens more For this boy of twelve years A doctor leans upon the wall I seen his doctor crying tears A dedication beyond the call Both of Ali`s arms are gone His body was burned so bad With pain from dusk till dawn Bombs took his mom and dad He lost brothers and sisters A family home blown apart His body covered in blisters Scenes that broke my heart There was no medication For pain he gets no relief On his head is lacerations Inside a little heart is grief Embarrassed is our nation We’ve sent him to get care Do we have a determination To help all the children there Killing kids, dads and moms Today I heard on the news We used our cluster bombs This we promised not to do Written By Thelma Shutters 4-21-03
