Agree To Disagree
(Published by the ILP for Best Poets 2001)
We don't always agree on things
But some times we do,
We agree that there's a Heaven and Earth,
We agree that Jesus walked the Earth,
The Son of GOD, our Lord and Savior,
We agree that Love conquers all evil,
We agree to Honor thy Mother and Father,
We agree that Moses lead his people to freedom,
We don't agree that terrorists can destroy our country,
We don't agree that our country should be a target for destruction,
We don't agree that innocent people, should die in vain,
We don't agree, we the people in America, should live in fear,
We don't agree on Nuclear/Biological war fare,
What we need is harmony and peace around the world.
What we need is love, happiness and understanding.
What we need is a more perfect union among the people,
What we need is our Savior to save us, from Satan's rampage of evil.
What we need is GOD to BLESS America
For us, we are living in the last days in time.

| Amen. This is good news to my ears. A message of hope. That God is still stronger than any evil. Leslie |

I have been approached far too many times by The International Library of Poets (aka Poetry.com) These companies continue to contact me, touting "Best Poet", "Poet of the Year", and "Editor's Choice Award" - and I haven't posted poetry there in two years. Poetry.com is a vanity company, and others like them (Noble House Publishing - UK), publish poetry - at considerable cost to YOU. The awards offered - and paid for by the poet - does not signify quality poetry; it simply is a means of financial gain for these companies.
Several authors here at Authors Den have written articles on the matter. I direct you to one written by Deborah Russell; you can find her article here at AD. In her article, she lists the companies that are connected to one another, and she also lists contact information.
Don't be duped by these vanity companies. There are reputable poetry contests out there, and many offer cash prizes and/or publication for quality poetry. You can also find a separate article on Deborah's site listing some of those writing venues.
Respectfully,
Tami |
