He spared my life for this day
He knew that I would accept him as my Savior

No death, for He is eternity
I am glad that I got to know my God
For there were times that I felt all alone
Darkness filled my soul, without a friend
Where life problems seemed to have gotten the best of me
Where the pains of life were hurtful

The angels in heaven rejoiced when I gave my life to Jesus Christ who saved my soul
Where I found a Friend
Who became the Shepherd of my soul
Who will never leave me
A friend who comforts me when I am lonely
A friend who will heal my wounds
A friend who will heal my broken heart over and over again
I am glad I got to know my God
He spared my life for this day
