Constantly Moving

Life sometimes appears to move ever so slow,
standing still lost in the essence of passing time,
but the sand in the hourglass maintains it’s flow,
unforeseen in the perception of one’s own mind.

We often just can’t wait until we reach tomorrow,
not realizing a day gone is forever lost in the past,
left with distant memories, regrets and our sorrow,
thoughts linger on what once was but did not last.

Life is complicated by feelings, wants and desires,
where often our actions are controlled by emotions,
if we stand still we run into our own burning fires,
but if we move to fast we get lost in the commotion.

Such complexity controlled by simplicity’s wrath,
plagued with our uncertainty takes it’s mortal toll,
to succeed all we must do is stay on the right path,
a wrong turn or if we stumble, we fall in the hole.

When we’re lost in the stillness of the dark night,
the time keeps moving, nothing can get in it’s way,
enjoy each second before it fades from your sight,
for on the earth your time is short and it won’t stay.

Samuel,
How right you are, look forward but remember that in the past.
