There she stood like a shimmering rose,
Beauty so ravishing and almost unseen
Her melodious voice echoing in the room ,
Enchanting the hearts of the young and the old

Piercing the hearts into which looked
Her deep, black, questing eyes
Eyes, that depicted passion and fervour,
Burning the fairer onlookers to shreds!

"Who is this Enigma?" asked one and all,
"An angel" replied the ardent adorers ,
"A devil in disguise" grumbled the jilted
Needless to mention I am the former

But does that make things easier for me ?
No it does not, why not, you wonder !
For she will remain an enigma to me
Till the sun kisses the moon and yonder

An enigma, who bruised numerous hearts
All in one sultry summer night and
Away She went leaving anguish and torment
Among the adorers and the jilted alike
