My mask has set me free
to fly among my memories

transparent as a butterfly
among forget-me-not-s
unpretentious of blue

A lot to ponder here about being forgotten not and hiding being blue behind a mask when love was young and your thoughts flew like a butterfly.

Masks are rarely used to conceal who we are, but to suggest who we long to be. For example, of or relating to a period.

Wearing masks which we have all experienced...somehow I cannot picture you ever having to wear a mask. I think you have never pretended to be someone you are not...

....whether intrepid, incognito, or ineffable as your baby blue butterfly, your memories may mask more but seldom less than the intrigue your poetry alludes to... an essentially inimitable combination, at once clever and artistic... designed to dazzle with the terse verve of Vivian's verse... wonderfully wrought!
