A poem to uplift anyone who has suffered a death or loss of a friend or relative.

It's a new day

A new morning

No more will I morn

Rather, I will rejoice

For the Gift

That knowing and loving you

Brought to me and my life

I will not start my days

as if the dew is so thick

it seeps into my soul

and

drips onto each memory

we shared

Rather I will rejoice

that God in all his wisdom

brought us together in this

journey through life

for a purpose

I will shed the cloak of

 sadness

and

despair

I realize that even though

you've left me here on this

Earthly plane

You are still with me every where

In all that I see

I see it with a new insight

It all becomes more precious

because now I know how quickly

it can all be removed

Taken in the blink of an eye

I will embrace life

and all those I encounter

with gladness

with joy and patience

I will not be afraid to

reach out my hand

I won't walk through life

as if on shifting sand

I will walk on solid ground

always mindful

that you will always be around

wishing me well and

always sending your love

You have become my

guardian angel

watching me from above.

Thank you for the gift of your love.
