My Hope Is In The Lord

A poem I wrote while in prison that talks about how every door I thought was opening in my life, just got shut. Also how my only hope for freedom was in Christ.

MY HOPE IS IN THE LORD

ONE DAY I WENT TO PRISON, I WAS BOUND AS I COULD BE, 21 YEARS THEY GAVE ME, IT SEEMED NO HOPE IN SIGHT FOR ME. ALTHOUGH I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND IT, I TRUSTED GOD EACH PASSING DAY, KNOWING HE HELD ALL THE ANSWERES; SURELY, HE COULD FIND A WAY.

DAY BY DAY, YEAR BY YEAR, EVERY OPEN DOOR BEGAN TO CLOSE, WHEN WILL THIS DREADFUL BATTLE END, ONLY GOD IN HEAVEN KNOWS.

THOUGH THE STORM MAY STILL BE RAGING, I WALK BY FAITH AND NOT BY SIGHT, JESUS IS THE WAY, HE WILL OPEN THE DOOR, WHO KNOWS IT JUST MIGHT B E TONIGHT.

A powerful testimony of faith, the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things NOT seen.
Very encouraging work, and welcome to The Den!

Charlotte,
I am glad that the key was turned and your faith unshaken.
