Surviving the Shadow

Wandering the netherlands of my mind
chaotic reasonings unleashed
to will myself cruel to be kind

How was I to survive
this grief, my perpetual shadow?
Could my life somehow revive?

The year was 1999
when I at last accepted the loss
of this son of mine

The following year
out of the shadowlands of pain
I stepped first with fear

Surviving the shadow of my sorrows
my grief road endless
yet now there are my tomorrows

It is hard to comment on a pain one knows one has not seen the beginnings of in one's own life.. so I will simply comment on the poem itself. It was beautiful. I mean... you've got me tearing up over here... tissue please?
