Lost
Lost, I’m feeling you slip away
Scared, wanting to hold you, please stay
Smiling, shining, glowing in your eyes
Hiding, running, don’t look in mine
How, wondering where the years went
Wishing, my hours had been better spent
You, slipping quickly, too quickly away
Wishing, I could take back yesterday

Such deeply reflective questions and the finality of the non-answer is heartbreaking. We can never take back the past sadly only learn from it. Welcome back Sharon it is good to see you posting again and with such an excellant example of your work.

Sharon,
Very sad and so filled with emotion. Unfortunately but funny your poem sort of reminded me of Frank Sinatra's old song, "My Way" We, as humans, are so weak and understanding our vulnerabilities is near impossible. In life we laugh, love, live and lose which is all part of the great plan ; Forget about trying to make sense of it all. Stay strong my friend. Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul. |
