Elusive Legend

From ancient myths and lore
This elusive legend was born.
Glance to the left, then to the right
The mysterious shape fades from sight.
The legend is elusive, with faintly shimmering light.
Yet it brings hope to the night

For those who seek with their hearts to find its glowing horn
The legend is no longer elusive
It is the Unicorn.

Nicely written and quite cinematic!

Best Wishes,

Well, we have two things in common, Carol! I love Star Trek, having begun with the very first...Captain Kirk... right through Captain Janeway. I also lived most of my life in Arlington and Ft. Worth, Texas. So, howdy, neighbor! And, then I find you writing a poem about my favorite creature: the Unicorn, spoken of nine times in the Old Testament, therefore not a myth. Excellent, exquisite poem. ~~Bonnie Q

Interesting. Reminds me of the Irish Rovers' song: The Unicorn.
