Book Signing Jitters

No matter how many times I have a book signing, I still get VERY nervous! |
|
I get the book signing jitters
Again and again;
Will they ever go away?
If so, tell me when.
In just a few hours,
From three to five;
I'll be signing at Barnes and Noble,
And I hope I'll survive.
Watching and talking to browsers
As they walk by,
I can't help but wonder,
Will any of them buy?
I get the book signing jitters
At the table with my pen,
Vowing that I'll never
Be doing THIS again!
I'm hostage in a bookstore
As the manager thinks, "We got her!"
At my table is a buyer,
But they bought Harry Potter.
I get the book signing jitters,
I sweat, I shake, I fret;
But this is what I wanted...
I always seem to forget. |

| Keep writing, with your talent for words you will see and people will buy them. I never been to a book signing, but would love to go to one sometime in my lifetime. Have author Friend from my past hometown Bonnie May who wrote books and went to book signing in Colo. She did well and has said she will write no more books, but we do not believe her. She likes to write too well to end it. Her books are great. |

I read this with a smile- you write so lucidly that I could see you sitting in that Barnes and Noble! : D
I've never signed books before, but we've all been bitten by the jitter bug at one time or other. With writing this GREAT, though, you've got nothing to be nervous about April. |

I love this--"...at my table is a buyer...but they bought Harry Potter"
I can definitely identify with this, as my first book signing is at the end of this month. At least you have some under your belt! Making the connection is the hard part, but I guess it's good for us, isn't it?? (We'll see...)
Hang in there and best wishes to you, April.

| I have never experienced that yet, but somehow I know how you feel. Are they looking for a character from my story, or just a person in all their glory? Hope they can see the wordsmith within. Enjoyed |
