deep concentration
is required to produce poetry of power

IN PURSUIT OF POETRY

       Day after day,
      hour upon hour
      throwing thought
      after thought
      upon spiritual fire,
      time distending...
      yet every bloated
      minute ending with
      unfulfilled desire
      to dress literature
     nobly-- trying to
      make the words
     worthy of the fire.

That won't work. What you have to do is just write, and then throw it out there, fire or not. Ron
