While the dew is still on the grass,
Our town starts early with it's task.
The excitement begins to fill the cool crip air,
As the booths are setup on our town square.
The carnival rides arrived last night
To the children's squeals of delight.
Our town becomes a joyous place,
As it puts on it's friendly, smiling face.
All of our friends far and wide
Come to celebrate by our side.
Old friends gather in the shade to talk
While others just like to look and walk.
The smell of good food fills the air
Causing great hungry to all that are there.
Loving parents watch their happy children run and play
On this very special day.
Then our great parade comes down the street
With more of our friends smiling and waving to all they meet.
Oh, how sad the day must end
But what a grand day it has been.
Good memories is what it's all about.
Friendship of a small town that won't soon be forgot. |

The story kept my interest as to what was going to happen next and how Ellie would handle the divorce of her parents. Harold was an interesting yet helpful friend who she could tell her problems. Hope to hear more of Ellie and Harold in their new homes. |
