Rest in Peace?
by Marcia Miller-Twiford

Friday, November 20, 2009
Rated "G" by the Author.

Rest in Peace?
It's always said, "Rest in Peace"
whenever someone leaves this life.
Nonsense, I say!
To rest in peace is not for me.
I've slept enough in this lifetime.
When I travel on I choose not to repose.
Young and vibrant again
I want to dance with butterflies through
fields of wildflowers,
sit on a crescent moon and watch
the stars fly by,
look at the face of God and
hear Him say to me,
"Well done daughter, welcome home."
I want to be at those gates of pearl
when those who've done evil
approach to enter, and
hear St. Petrer say,
"To the likes of you,
these gates are closed."

Your dreams of the "beyond here and now" are intriguing. Oh what joy to think we might all dance with the butterflies and run through fields of wildflowers. Nice pen.

I love how this progresses, Marcia. I hope there are Northern Lights in Heaven: want to dance with 'em. :) Beautifully imaged and penned, well done.

They also say, "Let light perpetual shine upon them."
Like you go to some great tanning salon in the sky.
I like a night once in a while, see some stars, build a fire.
Candles are fine.
They will bury me with a visor.
Never one for the spot light,
