America's Tragedy

When something this tragic happens in our lives,
It's easy to lose faith, not knowing who survives.
Seeing the terror in a young child's eyes who doesn't understand,
Why Mommy or Daddy had to go away -- I don't think anyone can.

Innocent lives were taken, in a moment of fright,
Leaving the rest of us shaken, ready to fight.
Life will go on, even though it's hard to believe it could be true ,
Keep the memories of the ones who are gone alive, by doing all we can do.

Twin Towers -- national symbols -- they took the fall,
But Americans -- our country -- we are still standing tall.
Send your prayers Heaven's way -- keep your spirits high,
By joining together as a nation, our freedom will never die.

More attacks may happen -- more tears may fall,
They won't stop trying to destroy us all.
Together we are stronger than they could ever be,
Fighting as one -- defending this great country.
