To My Beasties

For Copper, Sunny, and Maybelle, with love.

I miss my beasties.
Every hour that I am away
I am thinking of them,
Wishing I could be there
At home
Where they are.
I would much rather be
Stroking their heads
And talking to them
Than spending these long hours
Pushing papers
Within this cubicle;
But this job is what
Buys their food
And pays my bills,
So I soldier on;
But always I am
Thinking ahead
To days end
When I will return home
And we will be
Joyously reunited.

We are sure great to have dogs to greet us when we come home late from work, tired and depressed. Their exuberant welcome will cheer up anybody.

Wonderful poem, Rebecca.
Dogs are truly man's best friends.
I support the Guide Dogs organization,
that's helping develop puppy into confident
guide dog, giving to most disadvantaged people
in our community more freedom, independence
and great companionship. And love the happy
stories they share with me.

Aren't they the blessings we have received from God? A true friend always.
