For MJK

I shiver in
The noon day sun,
My shattered heart
Held together
By the ice
Creeping relentlessly
From my core
To my limbs;
"You must have hope,"
The doctor said,
"You must not
Give up
Or surrender
To the darkness
Stalking your soul.
For I know that
So many treatments
Exist to help you
Survive
This frightening diagnosis!"
It was obvious
That the doctor
Did not know
That I had already died
Just hours ago,
Because my reason for living
Had walked away
Into the morning mists
After cruelly telling me
I was too old,
Too fat,
Too boring
To waste one more moment
Of his life
With me.
Now, abruptly,
My anger threatens
To thaw my frozen spirit
And I feel my apathy
Falling away
As I begin to plot
How best to serve up
A generous serving of
Revenge,
The kind that can only come
From the mind and heart
Of a scorned woman,
And I realize that
The first course
Will simply be
To focus on surviving
Because I want my heart back!

dear lady, i hope this is not true but if it is, you must still have hope and the one who walked away is a liar.

Such a wonderful poem. I enjoyed reading it today. But I realize how you feel about the abuse you have suffered, don't give up nor give in to
that kind of trifliness. God Loves you and That is All that Matters. God will heal your wounded and broken heart and you will live again.
Have faith, believe and you will see a difference. Amen.

Some doctors lack compassion. They do not know the way to treat a person's health is through the person's heart and soul first. I hope you will be able to heal your heart from this terrible ordeal.

A great reminder to all!
