Description of intent.

It often seems that we’ve lost our way. Our journey twists and winds itself through impenetrable wilderness. It often seems that only the moon shows us the way. Yet there, yonder, the first rays of the sun reach us with the promise of solace and unification. There we shall cast no more shadows––we shall become as one.

Inspired by Bozena Happach’s sculpture “Wilderness”.

The labyrinth of life offers little hope.
Each turn threatens doom, in darkness we all grope.
Alone we shall perish, unable to see
that the light only shines from within. From Thee.

For a while nephesh, our animal soul,
seems to help us along, mocking our role.
Even as the moon is shining with borrowed light
of that that lies beyond it: the mysterious Might.

Then, at last, we are blinded: Let there be what may…
No man can see and live! So the prophets say.
The sun fills our eyes. Fills our heart and mind.
The light shines from within, let us remain blind.

Hi Stan, I love that last verse. It makes this a great little capsule that one could keep in their heart and in their pocket for a mini-refresher course. :) Thank you for sharing this....

Your perspective gives me pause for reflection, Stan. Thank you. Love and peace to you,
