Thunder charmed nearly everyone she met, and many grieved when lymphosarcoma took her from me far too soon. This poem honors her.

(Thunder, my guide dog, gave great joy not only to me, but to many. She died at 8 of lymphosarcoma.)
Dear Thunder's playful bounce brings joy to all
Who love a merry heart and gleeful tail.
Her antics, graceless with treasured tennis ball,
Yet doe-like leaps through grasslands do prevail.
Her songs of WOO! with head tipped to the sky
Do lift despair as sunlight raises mist
And all life's tears cannot resist to dry.
To fetch glee, she does noisily insist!
Besides directing traffic with her bark,
She demonstrates her thoughts with pointy ears.
Her collie smile brings brightness out of dark.
Her cuddles comfort and turn aside all fears.
Playful friend and salve to wounds is Thunder,
The best canine companion, little wonder!
