boldly she snaps
until hardened steel connects.
mangled flesh is not the only wound.
Pain.
There is no way around it --
unavoidable,
so I square up to meet
my destiny and faithfully
stride on.

You have an interesting style that certainly coveys the feeling. I like the first line, boldly she snaps, and the observation, mangled flesh is not the only wound........Jerry
