Oh, say can you
by April Robins

Friday, March 14, 2008
Rated "G" by the Author.

Well here I am again trying to rhyme. This is a work in progress. Please send me an e-mail if you can think of words that could be added. Anything that starts with "Oh, say can you". Let's see how far we can go.

Oh, say can you see a little thing like me

Oh, say can you hear me call you Mommy dear

Oh, say can we look inside the children’s book

Oh, say can you smile and stay for a while

Oh say can you give as long as you live

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

(by Diana Wiles)

Oh say can you love like a sweet Turtle Dove

Oh say can you sing like a bird on the wing

Oh say can you roam yet always come home

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh, say can you walk as fast as you can talk

Oh, say can you teach my mind how to reach

Oh, say can you deal with the sadness I feel

Oh, say can you prance like the pony wanting to dance

Oh, say can you doubt or do you know what it is all about

Oh, say can you kiss my heart with such bliss

Oh, say can you doodle a cute fluffy poodle

Oh, say can you hark to the call of a lark

Oh, say can you whine when we start to dine

Oh, say can you jump over the great, big hump

Oh, say can you dive into everything you strive
Oh, say can you baulk at the words that I talk
Oh, say can you dream about the moonbeam
Oh, say can you flitter regarding the puppy litter
Oh, say can you taste without making haste
Oh, say can you whistle when you’re lost in the thistle
Oh, say can you whittle words down that are brittle
Oh, say can you vision the life you’ll be given
Oh, say can you tug my arms for a hug
Oh, say can you chug the water from the mug
Oh, say can you dash through the crowd for some cash
Oh, say can you dare to let down your hair

Oh, say can you wonder about the sound of thunder

Oh, say can you swing as good as you can sing

Oh, say can you ring my phone a ding-a-ling

Oh, say can you save these words that I gave

Good original and nice write. Reads easily and let us go through our memories ourselves of days gone by.

I like this..I like its progression...it reminds me of a wonderful Patchwork quilt of memories....Love, Diana.
