Digging through memories, juggling through years
Somehow, I held on to pieces and bit bites
From sunrise to sunset, were two lives all wrapped up
More sealed in, than cloaked in but wrapped up in one stole
Unsure then the carving, if silver or platinum,
The trimmings I knew though, were molded in hard gold
We paid forth with hard time, to fade hence the memories,
We started with hours, and went on to days,
We skipped forth to find weeks, then months and years slipped by
Too grateful for time’s game, prefer them to mind games
For time burns remembrance, cognizant of all sorts
Though often at its time, its end game is first class.
Let’s play back the history, the moments we crave not
Let’s take back the freedom, which once not our minds knew
Revisiting the misery that clouded our mind sets
We shudder just thinking how weirdly time stood still
For through this, we’re human, bona fide, concrete.
The lessons we take forth, its values are priceless
