Only Dreaming-Cinderella
By Jim Stewart c 1980
After all of these years of dreaming
I finally found a goldmine.
Someone who wouildn't hurt me.
Someone who wouldn't change my mind.
I'm Living in a fairy tale
Or acting out a nursery rhyme.
I found my Cinderella
Like stepping out in time.
You see it's like living out a dream
after all of these years.
Hiding behind this mask
And looking through all the tears.
Once in a while you see sunshine.
You don't know where to start.
You just hope it never ends
And you never see the dark.
The clock strikes twelve
It's time for us to go.
Off into the night, where I do not know.
But I still have that glass slipper
That she has left behind
I dream of my Cinderella
Almost all the time.
